Project Description

1st prize in the competition for onshore infrastructure at Stuttgart Airport [1992] | Completion 1998

Transparency and openness as a goal of optimal orientation and customer-friendly manageability. The car parks with a total of 4000 parking spaces are adapted to the terminal building in their entirety (height, orientation, design, materiality); they create a self-contained ensemble. The intersection-free structuring of traffic, parking and pedestrian traffic was a central concern of the design. Outstanding architectural elements, such as spiral ramps, glazed elevators, glass path roofing and a stream have a guiding and orientation function and create an attractive pedestrian axis as the backbone for the integration of further service areas.
